Beating Burnout with Social Networking.

Burnout is unavoidable sometimes, we get busy with our day-to-day taking care of the business, taking care of the kids, making sure everyone else is taken care of, then before we know it, we are drained and have nothing left.  It has happened to me before.  Burnout was the main reason, I closed my door and left the field for a while.  When I started up again, I put a few things in place to make sure that did not happen again.

  • Take in-service classes. Beside keeping you up to date on your training, it is a great way to meet new people.
  • Get involved with your local child care groups and organizations. These are great, plus you get some perks and discounts that will help you with your business.  If you do not know where to start, a good place would be your local Resource and Referral Agency or you can start with NAFCC, and their State Affiliates.
  • Us Facebook, Forums and other sites online, to help keep you connected.  I have greatly enjoyed the community of friends and acquaintances that I have met on-line.  Here are some of my favorites that are active sites with lots of participation.

You might be asking yourself, why are all these places related to child care, I get plenty of that during the day.  Well, it is social networking, it is a great way to keep yourself and your business in front of people who might help you keep your numbers up. So, get out there be visible, social and prevent burnout in the process.
